I have always had an interest in the unintentional results obtained from firing ceramic, using the surface of the thrown vessel as a canvas to create work which holds an appreciation for the tradition of wheel thrown ceramics alongside a painterly aesthetic forms the foundation for my explorations into the materiality of clay. All of my works are created in my North London studio based in Islington.

The uniformity of the wheel thrown form is particularly appealing, using a traditional craft technique and using surface decoration to emphasising elements of the making process is something which interests me greatly and is a element which I look to explore in greater depth.

Born in West Cornwall my appreciation for studio ceramics was apparent from an early age,  following my studies specialised in Painting at Camberwell College of the Arts I create work which unifies these parallel interests.
